New Web Site = New Customers for Park 720 Vehicle Storage in Cape Coral / Fort Myers Florida region.

PRLog (Press Release) – Jul 22, 2009 – Park 720 Vehicle Storage in Cape Coral, Fla., kicked off its busy season with a new Web site that is attracting more visitors who are searching for a safe haven for their RVs, vehicles and boats. What sets this redesigned site apart from the competition, however, is that a growing number of visitors who drop in at http://www.Park720.com are pulling up a cyber-chair to stay, and that is translating to new customers for the Southwest Florida area business, according to Lynn Kirby.
Kirby is president of The Kirby Family Properties, which owns and operates Park 720 Vehicle Storage as well as three self-storage facilities in Cape Coral and North Fort Myers, Fl. Park 720 Vehicle Storage provides short-term, long-term and temporary storage for anything on wheels, which can range from a simple car dolly or trailer to a multi-million-dollar motor coach or motor home. In between those points, customers store boats and trailers, cars, RV’s, trucks, even classic cars and commercial vehicles.
"We know that every year, more and more people use the Internet to research products and services to save time, find information and comparison shop," Kirby said. "In order to take advantage of that trend and be of more value to customers, we decided to update the Web site, add information and make it easier to navigate."
Southwest Florida is a coastal area on the Gulf of Mexico, a vacation destination and a popular place for part-time residents to spend the winter months, Kirby explained.
"That means in addition to local customers who use Park 720 Vehicle Storage as a cost-effective convenience for boats and RVs, we have a significant number of out-of-area people looking for a vehicle storage facility," he said. "The new Web site is making it easier for them to find the information they need and easier for them to find us, too."
How does Kirby know that?
"Since the site was launched, the number of inquiries has continued to climb, and the number of rentals is the highest since the facility opened in 2003."
Steve Scott is president of Starship Internet Marketing Services in Tampa, Fl., the firm that designed and launched the new site.
"A typical Web site visitor can decide in fewer than thirty seconds whether to stay or move on," he said. "The Park 720 site invites them to stay. On the first page they have access to all the information they need, and the site is attractive to look at."
This year, the economy has changed the way some people are using Park 720 Vehicle Storage and the Web site, which includes a place for people to ask for things like rate quotes or to request reservation information online.
"In previous years the people who spend the winter months in Cape Coral, Fort Myers, Naples, and other Southwest Florida areas would take their motor homes and RVs on overnight trips or spend a few days in a resort area," Kirby said. "This year it’s more economical to store the gas-guzzlers here, drive their cars and take advantage of the low rates at motels and resorts."
The second economy-driven change is the number of commercial vehicles at Park 720. Businesses are under intense pressure to slash overhead, and some have been able to reduce the amount of commercial space leased or convert to a home-based office by using the facility to park work vans, trailers and trucks.
"The commercial vehicles tend to use the outdoor storage, boats commonly use the covered carports, and the high-end motor homes lean toward the enclosed garages," said Kirby, and that information is available on the home page, too.
"What’s neat about the new Web site is that people know all this right away," he said. "They don’t have to ask about security, they know that the facility is surrounded by a 15-foot wall, security cameras operate 24 hours a day, and it’s built to handle hurricanes, all the things that are most important to them."
According to Dan Regelski, director of Florida Gulf Coast University’s Small Business and Development Center, a Web site is an integral part of an overall marketing strategy.
The SBDC provides counseling and resources to help people start or grow their businesses.
"There is no question that a Web site, particularly one that is designed to reach out to a specific market, can make a difference for a business," he said. "Technology has allowed businesses to promote themselves and provide information to customers 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and we never miss an opportunity to stress the power of the Internet."
